SJSU BFA Show “Out of State” at Works/San Jose

WORKS/ San Jose is holding its 1st Annual “Out of State” Bachelor of Fine Arts exhibition this weekend. The show acknowledges the culmination of four years of comprehensive study by students in the undergraduate Pictorial Art program at San Jose State University. The exhibition features painting, drawing, printmaking, and mixed media, and includes works by: Ginger Burrell, Matthew Campbell, Jose Estrada, Gloria Gardner, Onna Hui, Minal Jeswani, Jeremiah Kille, Colin King-Bailey, Gabriela Lujan, Craig Anthony Mele, William Muir, Kristin Shinoda, Kate Stewart and Sebastian Vido

The show opens with a reception on May 28, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. at WORKS/San Jose and will be on view through June 12.

doors open 5pm for gala reception, bidding begins at 7pm

admission is free! bidder registration just $15, $10 members of Works

Auction preparation and giddiness.

Greetings! There is a lot of excitement in the gallery as we prepare for our benefit auction on Saturday night. Yes, this Saturday night, May 22nd! The final preview will be from 5-7, the mad bidding for fresh, hot art begins at 7 p.m. Why not arrive before 7 to find a parking place and get your bidder number and enjoy a final tour around the gallery before the competition heats up?

We’re working to get everything ready, which includes our complete online gallery, so in the meanwhile, enjoy a virtual visit with two very compelling Bay Area Artists, Tim Tsun and Lydia Rae Black!

Double check your calendar to make sure you have saved the evening of May 22nd for the Benefit Art Auction! The reception will begin at 5 p.m. Bidding will be begin at 7 p.m.

This lovely watercolor by Dick Zunkel is just one of the many amazing pieces that will be offered at our auction that night. Did he capture some San Francisco fog to create those soft yet deep colors? Keep checking back in with this site as we’ll be posting additional photos of artwork that will be up for bid that night!
