About WORKS/San Jose:
Works/San Jose is a non-profit contemporary art and performance center dedicated to presenting the
ideas, images, and performances of emerging artists and curators who have limited access to
exhibition opportunities. Works provides a place to challenge and expand the established
opinions of art and art making, while supporting activities that foster communication between
artists, curators and the public that strengthen cross-cultural understanding, validate identity,
and enhance the quality of life in San Jose. For nearly thirty years, our spirited team of
volunteers with the assistance of our part time gallery coordinator (Works' only paid staff member),
has annually produced ten visual art exhibitions, a calendar of music and performance art events,
and an array of community art services.
