Works/San Jose Presents
2004 Benefit Auction and Exhibition

San Jose, CA, November 12, 2004, Works/San Jose art and performance center is pleased present the 2004 Benefit Auction and Exhibition, an exciting gala event that will take place on the evening of Saturday, December 4th 2004. Nearly 200 emerging and established Bay Area artists have donated their artwork to be included in the event?s live and silent auctions. This diverse collection of works, ranging from painting and photography to sculpture and ceramics, will be on display at Works/San Jose in a preview exhibition from November 23rd through December 4th, 2004.

In addition to artwork that will appeal to both serious collectors and first time buyers, this festive event will feature live music by Ricardo M. Ramirez and tasty hors d'oeuvres from some of the area's best dining establishments.

As the largest annual fundraiser held by Works/San Jose, all proceeds from the 2004 Benefit Auction and Exhibition will support the gallery?s visual art exhibitions, performance art events, new music nights, artist-in-residence program, and youth and family art workshops.

Works/San Jose is located at 30 North Third Street at Santa Clara Street in downtown San Jose. Free parking is available after 6:00 p.m. and on weekends in the parking structure directly across the street. Call the gallery at (408) 295-8378 for more information.

Exhibition Preview Dates:
November 23rd through December 4th, 2004

Gallery Hours:
12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday
12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. Thursdays

Auction Night:
Saturday, December 4th, 2004
Doors open at 5:00 p.m.
Live auction bidding begins at 7:00 p.m.

Admission:
FREE to attend! In order to bid on artwork you must purchase a bidder paddle: $15 general or $10 for Works members.

Works/San Jose is a volunteer-run, non-profit, alternative exhibition and performance space dedicated to providing a venue for artists, ideas and images that expand the scope of cultural and artistic experience.
